The Fuji apple has a somewhat thick skin. It is a customer favorite because of it’s Sweet taste and crunchy bite.
The variety was created from a natural cross between the Ralls Janet and Red Delicious
The somewhat thick skin is smooth and waxy. The Fuji apple has a natural glow to to it. It usually has a yellow base tone to the skin color, usually covered in red to pink striping. Now depending on the variety of the apple the coloring can change a little.
The flesh, inside, Tasty part of the apple is dense. The Fuji apple has a nice Crisp Crunch to it when you take a bite. It is a low acid and mild tasting apple. It is a crowd favorite here at Dries Orchards. I think that’s because it is the perfect balanced sweet to tangy flavor. It has notes of citrus and honey in it as well.
