The Golden or Yellow Delicious apple is an all around great apple. Tasty for eating, baking and great for apple sauce.
It is thought to have come from a cross between a Grimes Golden and a Golden Reinette.
This apple is known for it’s thin skin and easy to eat.
The flesh of a Golden Delicious has a fine texture, that combined with the thin skin makes this apple very easy to bite into. The mellow sweet flavor rounds out the all purpose apple that we know as the Golden or Yellow Delicious.
