The Granny Smith Apple is known for it’s tart taste and crunch. This apple is a fan favorite for pies since it holds its shape well and the flavor sweetens thru baking.

The Granny Smith apple got it’s name from Mary Ann or “Granny” Smith from Australia. This particular variety of apple came to be by chance. And Granny liked it.

The Granny Smith apple is Known for its Gorgeous Green skin. This skin does tend to yellow if the apple gets overripe. This apple is a very well rounded apple because it is good baked, fresh and in salads.

The tasty part or flesh of the apple is firm and white in color. It is very juicy with a tart flavor, some say slightly acidic. Some have said there’s a hint of a lemon taste to a Granny Smith apple.
